Naphta is a musician, producer, and DJ based in Wroclaw, Poland. The RBMA alumni blends grooves from all over the world, the slickness of disco-oriented house/techno music and free jazz creativity (with Sun Ra as his guide), with p-funk synths, wild guitars and afrobeat thrown in for good measure. He has released a string of EPs and two LPs. Second album, Naphta and the Shamans came via Astigmatic Records and its collective, jazzy and psychedelic flavour garnered support from the likes of Gilles Peterson and Andrew Weatherall and featured in numerous 2018 end of year lists.
Michał Szczepaniec is a self-taught multi instrumentalist based also in Wrocław. Starting out as a rock drummer he turned to electronic music and production, mainly as video game music composer.
